SAM ULLA LINDSAY “Afloat”

Gallery of the Giants is proud to present works by an artist who grew up in locally in Aldbourne, Sam Ulla Lindsay.

We are collaborating with Sam to bring her new body of photographic works to a wider audience. Sam lives on a narrow boat on the Kennet and Avon Canal – Her project “Itinerant Woman” celebrates this lifestyle. She has taken charge of a Gallery to place next to her boat wherever she moors. She will be touring, exhibiting and documenting her work as she moves along the canal this year so please stay in touch and check out her Instagram and her SAM ULLA-LINDSAY.COM for more details as the project evolves and for information on her upcoming artist led workshops.

ARTIST STATEMENT

“Exhibiting in Gallery of the Giants in Aldbourne where I grew up and along the Kennet Avon canal where I now live, has become part of my healing process after personal loss.  By sharing publicly, I hope to encourage conversations and feedback on the sensitive context of my work…”

“How does the imagery resonate with you personally?”

” Can sharing stories of grief and loss helps in healing?”

“How do you feel about publicly sharing sensitive personal stories?”
